Welcome

Welcome to my website! I am Tanya Madsen, a writer and musician. I have written off and on for years. But when I finished my tenth novel and a dozen short stories, I decided that I needed to do more than just write for enjoyment; I needed to share my work. So, that is what this is: me becoming another indie writer turned author (hopefully).

I haven’t been an active musician in years, but I still enjoy and sell my music and love creating it. So, I have added it here because it is another layer of who I am. I was a songwriter before I became a storyteller, and I see the evolution of my skill from verse to dialog.

One more thing. My work is deep, emotional, and contains trauma. It falls more into the dark romance genre as a result. This may be triggering for some and wildly therapeutic for others. I have always used art as a form of catharsis, and I hope that is what it may be for others. There are themes of abuse, addiction, grief, and loneliness, but this pain is offset by passionate love affairs, redemption, healing and, ultimately, happy endings.​​
